The celestial star fields above the Sonora Desert will soon be visible to my eyes.  It has been a long while since I was able to stay in Tucson for an extended period of time, but I am now making preparations to stay in Tucson this coming autumn and winter.

I will be taking the next step in expanding my vision and knowledge of the multi-faceted job and practice I have come OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAto call my passion.  In late September, I will be driving back to Tucson to attend the Board of Directors retreat for SAMS and assist/participate in the Sacred Marriage & Relationship intensive event.  I will also be speaking and giving a day workshop in November at the Tucson Astrologers Guild (details to be forthcoming soon).  I do not know the exact amount of time I will be in Tucson, but it is likely through February.

This passion began a few months prior to age 19 (during my 1st Nodal Return) with my first real gaze at  of the Milky Way galactic band of the countless stars above my head that brought an unexpected connection that goes beyond the stellar beauty and awe of an infinite cosmos.  The depth of that connection spurred me on into adventures, studies and relationships I would not have thought possible.

The decision or calling to me of shamanic astrology and eventually to become an astrologer was a synthesis of several initiations that I experienced in harmony within the foundation of my heart and soul.  From there I was able to study the stars more formally as that knowledge plays a vital role in the practice of Shamanic Astrology.

These last 3 years here in Oregon have provided me with deeper understanding of the 3 classic worlds (Underworld, Middle World and Celestial/Upper World), the elements and their relationship with us and how much we are a part of it.  The mythic stories of ancient times have made even greater impressions upon me in understanding who we are as human beings.

I have met many allies here in Oregon and will continue to foster those relationships on an annual basis.  The intent of going to Tucson is not permanent but is a desire to have an annual rotation between Southeast Arizona and Northwest Oregon as my living/visiting sacred spaces.  I am looking to incorporate more of the starry skies into my practice (better night skies in the desert) and life along with the lands and people in both places.  Both the Sonora Desert/Tucson Area and the Portland Area/Northwest Oregon hold special places in my heart and are closest to what I can call a home.

During my time in the Sonora area, the intent is to become more involved in the astrological community and of course my work with the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School, which is based in that area.

I am very excited about reaching this next stage in my life in continuing to nurture my vision and dreams into reality.  Manifestation has come slowly, but I have placed trust in the process and the planetary initiations that support me.  In the long run, it is working out for me in unexpected ways yet leaving my sense of wonder intact.  Being under the “starscape” has always given me a feeling of infinite cosmic intimacy, connection, a celestial hearth or home, inspiration, vision and broad clarity as to my intent in this lifetime.

The planetary alignments in October and November show some intriguing possibilities for me to inch closer to my soul’s intent.  I am in the midst of my Mid-Life Passage (as the Jungian school of thought calls it).  Saturn will be back in Sagittarius, ending my Saturn Opposition which began in January plus Uranus’ last 2 passes in Opposition toIMG_6449 my natal Uranus in December and January.  Pluto also continues to align in conjunction with my natal Ascendant , uncovering the depths and riches of rebirthing this training into Capricorn.

Note: As the time of this writing, NASA’s New Horizon’s craft is nearing and passing by its target of Pluto.  Because my Ascendant is 14°23’ Capricorn, this major event will take place while Pluto is only about 1/3 of a degree from an exact conjunction on my natal Ascendant.  For all of those people who are being initiated by Pluto at the moment (Pluto squares, conjuncts or opposes one of your “personal” planets/angles or itself on your natal chart), this is also a moment to mark and meditate on. We are exploring the depths of this underworld initiation just as humanity explores the depths of our solar system with Pluto being a major “stop” along that journey.
